This article is linked to from several others that imply it is about the general concept of virtual 3D environments in video games and such (eg: the opening of Virtual camera system), however it seems to be more specifically about virtual worlds with many players and customizable characters like in MMORPGs or SecondLife-esque games. Is this intentional, and if so is there a more general article about the former concept?
